Commercial Bankruptcy
We are experienced in bankruptcy matters ranging from protection of creditors in consumer bankruptcy as well as complex commercial cases, bankruptcy trustee representation in complex commercial creditor cases, and serving as special counsel to debtors-in-possession.
Most of our experience with bankruptcy matters has been in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Eastern District of Michigan and primarily serving creditors over the years, however, we have also acted as special counsel to debtors-in-possession to pursue outside litigation. In addition, Ms. Racine was admitted in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Southern District of Florida in order to represent a pension fund creditor – the Police & Fire Retirement System of the City of Detroit. We also serve as special litigation co-counsel to the Chapter 7 Trustee, Sonya L. Salkin in various related Southern District of Florida litigation matters. Ms. Racine was also admitted to the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in the Northern District of California to successfully handle a trial for the General Retirement Systems of the City of Detroit.
We excel at discovering and tracing assets of bankruptcy estates. We understand and are prepared to deal with legal matters relating to collections, dischargeability claims, fraudulent transfers, scheduling of assets, avoidance actions, litigation, and fraud and Ponzi scheme matters. The network of professionals with whom we have worked provides us with contacts in local, national and international governments and forensic accounting firms who can be called upon should the need arise.
